Church

I hate the idea of churches that preach fire and brimestone every Sunday morning. I am not at all saying that churches should sugar-coat God's word. I am saying that concepts of grace and mercy are used far more often in the Bible than those of judgement and condemnation. The church should be representative of that ratio.

I hate the usage of such alienating terms as "saved." These types of words have become cliche, and do not even translate to people outside of certain circles. Step outside the holy huddle, drop the Baptist lingo, and speak to people in their own terms.

I love my church for her love towards the community, towards one another, and also for her faithful teaching of the Scripture. :)

I hate when churches are so cheesy and they use gimmicks to get people there. Churches should let their actions in the community speak for itself. If they're helping people, then others will notice and decide to come. My point is that churches should never try to trick people into coming just so they can evangelize them.

I dont like churches that preach just fire and brimstone either, but what really gets me are preachers like Joel O'steing (the preacher in the largest "church" in america) who wont even address the topic of sin because its a downer. Im not saying that he should preach condemnation and whatnot, but you have to preach to people about what they are being saved from.

I hate churches that preach that the Jews are the People of God. It show a high level of ignorance of history (and much of the history to refute such a claim is in the very word of God).

Who has fulfilled the prophecies of Israel? Who multiplied to great numbers and swarmed into the lands North and West of Palestine?

Who blessed the entire world with advancement and progress? Who carried the word of God to the ends of the earth? Who brought hospitals, schools, written languages and decent infrastructure and so forth to thousands of different peoples, tribes and ethnicities? Who controlled the gates of her enemies (Suez Canal, Falkland Islands, Singapore, Gibralter, Panama Canal)?

It sure as heck wasn't the Jews who have rejected and would not have Christ reign over them for going on 2000 years now.
