Government

I hate the climate of partisanship, the labeling, the unwillingness in America to unite in issues that really matter. We forget that this world is suffering and that it's bigger than politics. I hate that we can't get beyond talking points to real, effective action that makes an impact on the lives of real people.

I hate the so-called 'Christian' efforts to 'moralize' society using political platforms, which often times take absurdly arrogant and condemning forms. The founder of Christianity Himself made it clear in the Scripture: the Church's mandate are the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the discipleship of all nations (Matt 28:19,20).

I hate how people assume that Democrats and Republicans can't get along. We may not agree on everything, but we can at least be civil about it and respect each other.

^Agreed. On that note, I hate Bush bashing. He's not the best, but neither is he a terrorist/Nazi/Satan/or whatever stupid rhetoric people come up with.

Government? What government? The present administration is a joke. People ask why is the 2008 election gearing up to be one of the most highly touted and diverse in American history? Perhaps it's due to the people's glee in having a change in regime. Bush won the election by making gay marriage the most important national issue in 2004 and by cornering the evangelical "Christian" voter demographic. Meanwhile, what have his faith-based initiatives accomplished? Crime rates are higher this year than last. Poverty still affects millions of people around the world and in our own backyards. And what has our government done? Meanwhile, it would be helpful if our nation's leaders would remember the separation of church and state was written into the constitution for a reason.

I hate how quickly we all forget the possibility that government can be a tool of good, community and a more prosperous tomorrow.

What I hate most about this government is the secrecy, lies, and ideological obstinacy.

I hate it when a law encroaches on our first amendment rights and no one cares. Mainly because no one can name those five rights.

freedom of speech, assembly, religion, petition and press
